BABY CARD WITH JUST SOME LINES

Hey everyone, it's my day to post on JUST SOME LINES BLOG I am using one of JUST SOME LINES newest images "crib for baby", which you can find at JUST SOME LINES SHOP. I just love this super sweet image and I have colored it so that it would be for a little girl. The 4th of my 4 children is a girl and even though she is almost 7, I decided to make this card as though I was welcoming her to the world, so I chose her favorite coloring pink and the little blankie in the corner with the stuffed animals is yellow, just like her baby blankie that she still carries around.:)

I used Copics and Atyou Spicas for coloring and then cut out with scissors. Sentiment is from Fiskars rubber stamp and I cut it out with an EK Success edge punch. Flowers are Petaloo, papers are from My Mind's Eye, Bazzill and Papertrey Ink. I used Cuttlebug EFs on the 2 embossed pieces - circle cut
with Nesties. Lace is from JoAnn.

I can't even remember the last time I made a baby card, so this was really such fun.
Just a reminder that our current challenge can be found by clicking HERE and I hope you will come play along. Hugs and have a great day!!

COLLAB FOR AUTUMN/FALL CHALLENGE AT OSAAT

FINAL WEEK OF

Happy Sunday to all!!  Before I talk about all the AMAZING fun going on at ONE STITCH AT A TIME this week, I want to get "real" with all of you for a few minutes.  I don't mean to sound like a huge bummer or complainer, but just feel I need and want to share this.  Over the past few weeks, I have gone through a very difficult time with my oldest daughter who is 12 and has high functioning Autism.  She just began middle school this week and it has been a huge struggle for her - all of her issues and episodes are related to social behavior.  She knows she's "different" but doesn't know why.  Also, she can't really understand or express any of the emotions she's feeling, which makes things very difficult.  This time over the past month with her has been so heartbreaking for me as her mother.  It is just really hard to watch one of my children struggle so much and not be able to do anything to help.  I apologize if I have been a bit "out of it" over the past few weeks, but I have found it hard to get through this difficult phase.  I am so thankful for my crafting and being able to serve on many amazing DTs because it really allows me a great escape and let's me transport myself to somewhere fun and stress free.  Thanks so much for listening.

So, this is our 4th and Final week of the PRETTY IN PRINT contest over at ONE STITCH AT A TIME. We can't wait to see what you all create. All the info is listed on this awesome badge if you want to enter our "Pretty In Print" Contest.    Don't forget this is the last week, hurry and get your entries in!

A DAY FOR DAISIES - Bundle of Fairy Love

Happy Thursday everyone!  If I haven't said this enough, I just want to thank everyone who follows my blog and leaves me such wonderful comments.  I am truely grateful for each and everyone of you and I love to create cards and other items and be able to share them with you:)

First up today, I have a card using "Bundle of Fairy Love" and it's sentiment from A DAY FOR DAISIES SHOP.  This image is actually from the July Club Kit.  I LOVE the KIT CLUB because you get an AMAZING kit of digi images and sentiments each month plus FABULOUS deals on other images from A DAY FOR DAISIES SHOP.   You'll definitely want to check this deal out, you will be glad you did!!

When I work with images, I have two basic processes I use.  Most of the time, I have an idea and color the image all at once in one sitting.  There are other images, however, that I color in parts and then the whole color scheme comes together for me at the end.  This is what I did for this particular image.  I photographed the image before it was fully complete just to give an example of my process for coloring this BEAUTIFUL image.

As you can see below, I started with the clothing and then did the mother's hair.  I added the child's hair and other skin tones, including cheek color later along with the wings, which I did last.  I am very proud of how this turned out.  Coloring done with Copics and Atyou Spicas and circle cut done with Lifestyle Crafts die.  Sentiment and scalloped circle cut with Nesties and I used part of a circle punch for the corners of the backing paper behind the sentiment.  DPs are from Wild Rose Studio and I have used Prism, Bazzill and SU cardstocks.  I added bling and bling butterfly, which are from Recollections.  Brads are from the Eyelet Outlet.

Other challenges entered:

SCRAPPY FROGS - bling
A DAY FOR DAISIES - Kit Club DT call

Thanks again for stopping by!!

It's time to hop with STAMP INSANITY!!  We have a hop so that you can hop around and meet all the DT members and see their creations using a sketch designed by DT Member Kelli plus adding flowers.  You should have come from SAMMI'S BLOG.  If you have not come from there, please go back to STAMP INSANITY and start from the beginning.

Please remember to comment on all blogs throughout the hop for the chance to win STAMP INSANITY digi images!!

You are now at AUDREY'S BLOG.  I have chosen this FABULOUS image of Morgan reading that you can find at STAMP INSANITY shop - just click on link at top of blog.  Sentiment is also from the same set.  Image colored with Copics and Atyou Spicas and cut with Nesties.  Wild Rose Studio DP used in addition to SU and American Crafts textured CS, Prima flowers and lace from my stash.  I hope you like it.

Your next destination will be BETH (she's the owner and illustrator of Stamp Insanity, so leave her lots of LOVE for her GROOVINESS!!)  Have fun:)

NEW CHALLENGE AT JUST SOME LINES - EMBOSSING

We are onto a NEW CHALLENGE this week at JUST SOME LINES BLOG and I am the host this time!  I have chosen
EMBOSSING
as the theme. Can be wet or dry embossing or a bit of both. Can't wait to see what you create!!

You have until Friday, August 26 at 11:59pm EST to play along in our challenge for the chance to win a $12 credit to JUST SOME LINES SHOP. You are not required to use a JUST SOME LINES image, however doing so will give you 2 entries instead of 1 in our random.org drawing for the winner.

I have created a sample for you using 2 images from JUST SOME LINES SHOP - Garden Corner 2 and Bird on Branch 1. I used the PNG files for both images and merged them ever so slightly to make one scene. I colored it with Copics and Atyou Spicas and cut out with paper trimmer. I used 2 different embossing folders - flowers are from Sizzix and dots from Quickutz. I hope you like it, I LOVE using embossing folders - so many cool techniques and ways to use them. Ribbon is from my stash, DP is Wild Rose Studio and CS is SU and American Crafts textured. Sentiment is from Flourishes clear stamp set and cut with nestie.

Fellow DT members Jenn and Laura have also helped make some wonderful samples for this challenge. Thanks so much girls!  Go to JUST SOME LINES BLOG to check out their awesome creations and to join our challenge:)

It's Thursday, which means time for the DIGITAL DELIGHTS DT to showcase our new projects on DIGITAL DELIGHTS BLOG and if you get a chance, I'm sure the DT members would love visits to their blogs and if you show them some love:)

A NEW CHALLENGE at DELIGHTFUL CHALLENGES starts today as well, so make sure you check that out and I hope you will come play along!!

This week, I am showcasing one of the NEWEST sets - image, accessory image, sentiment and digi papers - available at DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP.  I chose the image Fall Girl and have put her in front of the Sunflower background from the Fall Accessories image pack.  I have used a sentiment from the Fall Sentiments as well as digi papers from the Fall Leaves digi paper set.  I colored the image with Copics and Atyou Spicas and cut with Nesties.  I added Sakura metallic glaze for the clouds as well as Flower Soft for the pom pom on top of her hat.  I used a template from Papercrafting Essentials magazine for the flowers which are made from the Digi Papers, Angel Co. DP and Sassafrass Lass button flowers.  I have made a side stair step card.  I hope you like it:)
