MOJO 118, Inky Impressions #26

Well, it's been a busy vacation of stamping, yay! Today I created a card for 2 challenges plus decided it will be perfect for a swap that I'm going to join:) Nothing like being able to use 1 card for a variety of stuff!! Anyway, this card is for MOJO Monday challenge 118 (view Mojo Monday site to see the sketch - link on blog) and also for Inky Impressions Challenge #26 which was to use embossing (heat or dry) and glitter or flock. I used dry embossing with this quik kutz EF and used stickles for my glitter aspect. I also used SU crystal effects for some added fun. Paper is SU pumpkin pie, riding hood red and chocolate chip, DP is from my local scrapbook store. Image is Our Craft Lounge that I purchased from Paper Maniac, stamped with Memento rich brown and colored with copics. Orange ribbon and button are from MFT and used embroidary floss to add to button. Also going to use it in my friend Jeanette's (Forest Ranger) enchanted forest swap on SCS. Had a great time with this one! Let me know what you think.

I Love You Friend swap

This card is for Scrappy's (SCS urscrappymama) I Love You Friend swap. The challenge on this swap was to create a card for a very close friend who you don't get to see all the time. I chose this adorable Elzybell's image and sentiment. Colored image with copics and used polar white flower soft for the snow and details on the girl's hat and coat. Mounted image on vellum with silver sparkles then on SU DP and coredinations CS. Sentiment cut out using SU punch and stamped in SU Bermuda Bay ink. Darice bling flowers round out the card. Nesties were used to cut out image and vellum. Thanks for looking!!

TGF card swap on SCS

This card is for my friend Tracey's (SCS tdean32) swap. Challenge is to create a card using TGF image. I chose this adorable laundry girl and love the sentiment from Seasidestampin'. Colored her with copics and paper pieced w/ SU cottage wall which also serves as background DP. CS is SU old olive and SU grosgrain ribbon also used. Thanks for looking!

Dare to be Sassy Thurs. - Sassy Studios

Ok, this is my card for Dare to be Sassy Thursdays challenge at Sassy Studios. Challenge was to use red and green in your Sassy image. I chose this great image of the girl sleeping beside a gift and table of milk and cookies for Santa. I colored with copics and then paper pieced the chair and blanket in variations of red and green with paper from K and Co. which I also used on the background of the card. Base of card is SU Bravo Burgandy and I used that color ink to daub around the image. Used MFT buttons and Offray satin ribbon from JoAnn to complete the image. The layout is something I've seen on SCS - was from some challenge, but honestly don't remember what site the layout came from. I'm thrilled with how this turned out. Thanks for looking - let me know what you think.

Cute Card Thurs. challenge #92

I made this card for both Cute Card Thursday challenge - to make a card about New Year's - and also for Sew Many Cards challenge to use their new New Year's releases. Plus, Sew Many Cards is sponsoring this week's Cute Card Thurs., so even better!!:) For this card, I used Donkey from Sew Many Cards, colored him with copics, cut out with nesties, sprayed with Memories Mists Irridescent mist, added Stampendous Fun Flock to the tip of his tail and used yellow Stickles for his drink. Patterned paper is from K and Co. and CS is from SU. Also used Darice flower bling and organdy white ribbon from JoAnn. Love how this turned out!! Let me know what you think:)

Well, I didn't get any challenges done yesterday or today:( Had 10 people here for dinner tonight - my family (me, hubby and kids) plus both mine and hubby's parents. Finished wrapping tonight at a bit before 11pm - didn't have energy past 1:30am last night. Now I'm super tired so I'm off to bed. Hoping to be on tomorrow and maybe even post a challenge or something! Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

All my wrapping for the kids is done except for a few stocking stuffers - woo hoo!! Mailing out my last batch of Christmas cards after I drop the kids at the movies with my parents - I actually used all the cards I ordered - didn't make them for the first time in 3 years - and there's still a few people I have to give one too. Guess I'll be making some today! Other than that, hoping to work on a challenge or 2 today and finish my last bit of wrapping. Hope everyone has an enjoyable day!

More Fun with Sew Many Cards digis!

Here's another project I made for Sew Many Cards Red Challenge. This is an altered chipboard photo album. I covered the outer and inner chipboard with lamenated K & Co. DP that I lamenated using my Xyron. Then I reduced 4 Sew Many Stamps images to around 2 inches and colored them using copics, stickles, and liquid applique. I cut them out using nesties squares and then rounded the corners and mounted on SU bravo burgnady paper that I cut with nesties scalloped squares. Then mounted on cover of photo book. For embellishments, I used pieces from a Christmas cut-out pack from JoAnn. Then I printed out the words with my computer printer on the reverse side of the DP and mounted on the linen covered part of album. I am really pleased with how it turned out. I LOVE all Angela's images from Sew Many Cards. 3 of the images are from the December pack and the mug of cocoa is from the December value pack.

Another Sew Many Cards digi card

I'm really enjoying Sew Many Cards current challenge to create cards using the color red. Here's another one created using the adorable donkey. I love all the sweet animal digis at Sew Many Cards!! I used copics to color donkey and then cut him out using scalloped oval nestie on my Big Shot. Daubed edges in SU real red ink. Paper used is Bazzill textured red monochromatic value pack, SU DP and whisper white. Also found this cute flower button and senitment from SU set. Thanks for looking, let me know what you think!!

Made this card using Snow Bunny image from Sassy Studios for their 16th day of Christmas. I colored image with copics and used flower soft on ear muffs and trim of coat. Used some white organdy ribbon from JoAnn, along with The Paper Co. bling stars in silver. Paper is Coredinations, SU DP and whisper white. Cut out snowflakes with Big Shot using snowflakes 1 dies from Spellbinders on silver sparkly vellum.
Worked on a few things tonight - like how they are coming along, but not quite finished yet. Should be done to post tomorrow. Snowing here right now, not sure if it will stick or not?!?

Ok, so I promised more cards. These 2 cards are made using {ippity} stamps from Unity. I love these new stamps, they are so fun! For the first card (left), I used a the willow tree samp and one of my fav. sentiments - "Live, Laugh, Love." I chose SU rich razzleberry for the base and DP is SU cottage wall, one of my favorites, as you can see from some of my other projects on the blog. I also used SU old olive striped ribbon, my copics, TAC white 100#, Memento rich brown ink and daubed with SU rich razzleberry. I love the colors and the stamps!!

The next card was made with SU real red, soft suede textured, SU DP and TAC white 100#. I stamped the {ippity} snowflake using versa mark and heat embossed in white. Then I daubed SU real red and soft suede over top of the image. I LOVE the effect. I finished off the card with pearls from e.line by Prima. Let me know what you think!! Comments are always welcome.

Busy Day today - Weds., Dec. 16

Wow, I was busy today! I finished 8 cards and one altered item!! Above, you will see my entries for Sew Many Cards challenge #17. The challenge was to use all red on your card although the image could be colored in other colors. So, first I made a gift tag. I covered both sides of SU chipboard circle tag with SU DP. I punched a hole out where the chipboard hole was and ran some cute velvet red rickrack ribbon thru it (think it's from Maya Road). Then placed my colored Sew Many Cards candy cane heart image and wrote "to" and "from." I think it looks nice and can't wait to put it on a present! I'm going to make some more too:) Next is Miki the Monkey holding onto a candy cane (into candy canes today). I colored Miki with copics and put flower soft on the white parts of his Santa hat. I used SU real red and DP and then took another piece of SU real red and ran it through the Big Shot using the Cuttlebug snowflake EF. I mounted Miki on that using dimensionals and finished off the card with The Paper Co. bling and SU grosgrain real red ribbon. I think it turned out great. Thanks for a fun challenge!!

This is my second card of the day! WOOT!! This is another Sassy Studios image - shopping girl. I think she is so cute. One of my favorite techniques is paper piecing and I knew there had to be a way to paper piece a digi image and there was! I printed the image onto SU DP and then cut out her clothes and the bags and pieced them onto the digi image. I colored the parts I wasn't piecing with Copics first. Then, I went to use a QuikKutz window die, but it was too small to fit my image, which I cut out, so I made my own window. When you open the window, you see the sentiment, which is from Inky Antics. Also used SU old olive and razzleberry papers and found some Basic Grey buttons that matched perfectly. I'm very excited how the card turned out!!

I made this card using the free image that Sassy Studios digi stamps gave away last week. I LOVE it, it's soooo SASSY!! It's hard to see all the detail from this picture, but I colored her in with my Copic Spica glitter pens. I'm really thrilled with how it turned out. I used Gold stickles for the buttons on her boot that's up in the air. I cut her out using nesties and found the wonderful background paper from Cloud 9 design that I mounted on Gold Metallic CS from SU. I daubed the edges using Adirondak paint dauber - gold. Then I found the black lace that my friend Grace (SCS gv913) had sent me as a hostess gift for a swap. I thought it fit perfectly with the image. Let me know what you think!
Well, it's Monday, which has its benefits as well as its curses! I'm always tired on Mondays b/c I have to get up early after two mornings of sleeping in. Also, Monday is grocery day, and although I LOVE to cook, I do not enjoy my weekly trip to the grocery. On the bright side, the kids go to school on Mondays after 2 days of ripping the house apart and I get to do some stamping tonight at my SU demo's house for stamp club. Right now I'm working on some more digi images which I plan to post later today.

I made this card for Sew Many Cards weekly challenge. This week the challenge was to make a card with a winter theme. I chose Sew Many Card Eris the Elephant digi image with him sitting in a mug of cocoa. I used copics to color him and the rest of the image. I used Doodlebug glitter on the poinsettia and liquid applique to make the marshmallows look nice and fluffy. Then I cut the image out and mounted it using Zots 3D dots otno Lizzie Anne designs paper cut with SU topnote die and mounted on SU old olive paper. I used some QueenCat pearls on the bottom.

Well, time to alter something! I decided to use this clear plastic flip frame from Maya Arts. I used the Faux Mosaic technique that was recently posted on SCS. I used SU Razzleberry Cotttage DP, orxhid opulance and elegant eggplant ink from SU, SU courdoroy button in crushed curry, offray pink satin ribbon and this adorable image from Sew Many Cards digi stamps which I colored with copics. I'm really excited about how this turned out and think it would make a great Valentine's gift!

The DP I chose for this one is from K and Company's wild raspberry paper stacks. I used it on the back and also to paper piece the chair that Riley is seated on. The rest of the image was colored with copics after being cut out using Nesties. I used dew drops on the far right. The other paper used is SU soft suede and pink passion, The Angel Co. white 100#. I really like this fold as well.
This is my first go at a spinning wheel card (not sure if that's what they are even called). My motivation for this one came from Paola, SCS Sama, who's swap asked us to make a card that had a moving part. I had seen this technique done
before and thought I'd give it a try. I am happy with the results. I used SU pink passion, & old olive, The Angel Co. white 100# and Heidi Grace dp for this one. The stamps are from Unity Ippity, SU, and Fiskars. The brad is part of a set from Taylored Expressions. I used nesties to cut out both the circle that you turn as well as the circle you see the stamped image in. I used my EK Success scallop circle punch to cut out the area where you spin the circle/wheel.
My friend Jeanette, SCS Forest Ranger, held a swap to create a card depicting a scene from winter in the forest. I found this AWESOME paper from Imaginescense that worked perfectly. Cut a tree from Unity's new Ippity stamps collection out of glittery paper that I found at my local scrapbook store. Then, using my nesties, some clear clue, Darcie's transparency sheets and distress Stickles, I created a frozen lake. Sentiment is from SU set. I'm really pleased at how it all came together.

I created this card a few months ago for a Goddess swap - challenge was to bring out your inner goddess. I chose to do a peek-a-boo card using this adorable image and inner sentiment from Stamping Bella. Happy birthday sentiment is from SU. I saw this technique done at the SU regional in Cincinnati, that I was able to attend as a guest with my SU demo friends (thanks Debbie and Janine!) I love the way it just looks plain until you pull out the inner part and voila, color:)

Where I grew up card

I made this card for MiamiKel4/Kelly's swap. The challenge was to create a card depicting where you grew up. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio in a neighborgood of 2 story houses that were basically stacked on top of each other (very small yards). My house is the brown one in the middle. Also, there's a lot of snow in Cleveland, so I decided a shaker card where I could put snow in would be perfect. I used flower soft polar white for the snow. The houses are from an old SU set. I colored using copics and added the bricks on the red house b/c it was a red brick house in my neighborhood. The patterned paper is from Cloud 9 Design and the white is The Angel Co. 100#. The base paper is SU.

Still trying to get this going

Wow, it has been at least 6 months since I added anything to this. If I want to start showcasing my work, I need to get going!! My goal for the coming year is to do something with a stamp company, whether it's as a DT or a GDT, I would like to do something like that. I will start this quest in 2010 b/c right now I'm just too crazy with the holidays, etc. and wouldn't be able to put forth my best work. Here's some of my recent work that I'm pretty proud of.

This is a card I made for Kate's (celestial_stamper) Girls Night In swap. I used this great image from DeNami designs and the sentiment is from Clear and Simple stamps. I just love the tri-fold technique and added a few extras using MFT ribbon, Cloud 9 designs stickers, nesties and a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Ok, time to start adding stuff to this. Have made lots of cards for various SCS swaps. Will start posting these soon. Kids are done with school tomorrow, 6/12/09, can't wait!! It's been a L-O-N-G year.
