LOTS OF LAYERS CHALLENGE AT INKY IMPRESSIONS

Happy Wednesday and Happy Halloween to everyone!   Hope you are having a great week.  My week took a wee hectic turn yesterday as 2 of my 4 kids came home with lice again!  This time it was much worse, although I had found out about a different treatment in between this bout and the last one and it seems to have worked much better and quicker.  So, fingers crossed, no more lice this school year!

Anyway, we have a NEW CHALLENGE for you this week at INKY IMPRESSIONS CHALLENGE and it is LOTS OF LAYERS, minimum of 3.   You do not need to use an image from INKY IMPRESSIONS to play along, but if you do, you will get 2 entries instead of 1 for purposes of random.org drawing for the winner.
Our winner this time will receive a $10 gift certificate to INKY IMPRESSIONS!! What a great prize!

For my creation this week, I have chosen INKY IMPRESSIONS image “MarLeigha's Ornament Dance.”   Since Halloween is almost over (with today being Halloween), I decided to do a Christmas creation.  I have colored my stamped image with Copics and Sakura glaze pen then cut out with scissors.  DP is from Kaisercraft and CS from Bazzill.  I added Prima pearls and lace from Hobby Lobby, tree die cut is Cottage Cutz and inner circle cut with Lifestyle Crafts die.  Sure hope you like it and that you will come play along at INKY IMPRESSIONS CHALLENGE!!

TRYING A NEW FOLD FOR DIGI DARLA’S CHALLENGE

Hey everyone!  Gonna try and make this brief, although I seem to be unable to talk or write lately without going on for hours!  (Wow, my computer has very limited battery life when I unplug it from the wall.)

What do you think of my new blog background?  I thought it was time to get something a little more fall like in terms of colors and theme.

Anyhow, as usual, I am always discovering and trying to work with different images and new folds and techniques, so the current challenge at DIGI DARLA'S CHALLENGE is to use a fancy fold and I thought I would try a new one.  I saw a creation on Tracy MacDonald’s blog using this fold and it was so adorable, I knew I had to try it.  She calls it a sliding tag card and there is also a Splitcoast tutorial on it, although I have not seen that one.

TUTORIAL TO SHARE AT INKY IMPRESSIONS INSPIRATION BLOG

Hi everyone!  Well, my week/weekend remained “interesting” – not necessarily in a good way LOL.  On Friday, my main computer started acting up – shutting down automatically for no apparent reason.  By Saturday, we couldn’t even keep the computer on for 5 minutes at a time, so it is now at the “dr.” aka Best Buy.  So, I haven’t been on as much because my hubby and I are now sharing my laptop, plus all files are on the main computer so I am scrambling to try and re-find things or having to find other ways around stuff.  Hoping to have main computer back by end of week, but will depend on what the problem is and how long it takes to fix it.

To add to my "amusing” life’s happenings, our driveway is being redone and they started today.  In the morning, my husband swore that they were only doing the tear up of the sidewalks today and that I didn’t have to move my vehicle to the street, so I left it in the garage.  Then in early afternoon, when I went to go to the grocery, I realized there was no more driveway behind my van!  So, an hr. and a half later, after the poor guys had to construct a makeshift driveway out of the concrete scraps they had removed from the driveway, I got out to go to the grocery.  So, another crazy day in my life (which is actually usually pretty mundane and ordinary!!)

Well, that brings me to my inspiration for today, which you can find at INKY IMPRESSIONS INSPIRATION BLOG.  I have made my own designer paper using tissue paper and a few other supplies.  Hope you will visit the blog to find out how I made this.

SIMPLIFY AT LITTLE MISS MUFFET CHALLENGE!

Before I introduce our NEW CHALLENGE at LITTLE MISS MUFFET, I want to apologize for being a bit late with some posts this week.  As I mentioned last week, my youngest daughter was sent home from school Friday morning with lice.  Well, little did I know that washing once with the shampoo, coming out the bugs and some nits, washing EVERYTHING and steam cleaning the carpets would not be enough to get rid of the lice!  First thing Monday morning, I got another call from the school – more lice!  So, over the course of Monday and Tuesday morning, the better part of my days was spent doing repeated lice treatment and picking out nits, I was literally NIT PICKING!  LOL  Anyway, totally changed the course of my week – grocery shopping, errands, crafting, sleeping, etc.  Thankfully, she was back for a full day of school yesterday and hopefully good to go for the rest of the school year because I do not ever want to go through this again.

So, e have a NEW CHALLENGE for you this week at LITTLE MISS MUFFET and our challenge this time it is SIMPLICITY– we want to see 1 layer cards, minimal embellishments, etc.   You will have until Tuesday, October 16 to come enter your projects. Please remember, if you do not use a LITTLE MISS MUFFET STAMPS image, you get 1 entry and must follow our theme of SIMPLICITY.   However, if you play along with an image from LITTLE MISS MUFFET STAMPS,
you get as many entries as you want AND the theme is anything goes!!

Reminder, we have a FACEBOOK FAN PAGE and we sure hope you will join us – just click the link to go there – FACEBOOK - Barbara has promised a FREEBIE when we reach 200 followers, so tell your friends too!!

For my project this week, I have chosen LITTLE MISS MUFFET STAMPS rubber stamp “Vanilla.”  She is one of the spice dolls and is super cute holding her stuffed bunny.  I tried something new this week – coloring on kraft paper and I am please with the results.  I used Copics, Atyou Spica and Liquid Pearls on my image and added a sentiment from Gina K. Designs.  I embossed my image layer with a Cuttlebug folder then mounted on SU paper.  Sure hope you like it and will come join us!

MAKE IT MONDAY WITH KRAFT OUTLET – kraft paper and “quick as a bunny”

MAKE IT FOR A MALE AT INKY IMPRESSIONS!

We have a NEW CHALLENGE for you this week at INKY IMPRESSIONS CHALLENGE and it is MAKE IT FOR A MALE.  So, we are looking for those masculine creations.  If you are like me, there always seems to be a shortage of masculine creations in my stash, so I always relish an opportunity to create some.

For my creation this week, I have chosen INKY IMPRESSIONS “Christopher the Elf.”  He’s so precious!  INKY IMPRESSIONS has such wonderful, deeply etched rubber it makes it a breeze to get a beautifully stamped image every time!  I have colored this image with Copics and Fiskars glitter pens, added Stickles and Liquid Pearls.  Image and frame cut with Lifestyle Crafts dies, DP and CS are from SU.  Sentiment, also cut with Lifestyle Crafts die, is from INKY IMPRESSIONS as are pearls and fabulous present charm that I have set on Offray ribbon and added pearl pin from my stash.  Stitched ribbon is also from my stash.   Sure hope you like it and will come play along!
