BLOG HOPPING THROUGH THE FREEZE WITH LACY SUNSHINE!!

GOOD MORNING LACIES!!!

It was a lovely day with a gentle breeze making the grass wave, but all of a sudden black clouds and icy wind came out of the north! What could it be but an evil force coming to wreak havoc in the garden? It must be Frostbite, the evil vileness, and why is she freezing the sweet Flower Pot Pretties and Bloomin' Beauties?!? Snow is falling everywhere, and the icy wind blasted open the doors of the green house!  How can we save the Flower Pot Pretties? What can be done to save summer?

We must Hop! With everyone hopping and spreading Sunshine we might have a chance to save the Flower Pot Pretties and Bloomin' Beauties from Frostbite!

Today Color Your World is having another FUN Blog Hop combining the talented Design Team and the talented Creative Team!  Lacy Sunshine's greenhouse containing all the FLOWER POT PRETTIES and BLOOMIN' BEAUTIES has been frozen by a magical snow storm at the end of August.

We have a fantastic grand prize on offer for the lucky winner and lots of digi prizes to giveaway at the end of this hop, so its definitely worth your while hopping along with us all.

Digi Prizes
Each hop stop Creative team Designer and Design Team Designer will pick one commentor from their blog and that lucky person will win a digi of their choice.

Grand Prize
The Grand prize is a thirty dollar gift certificate for digital stamps and papers in the Lacy Sunshine shoppe!!

To have a chance to win, you need to hop to ALL the blogs in the line up and leave comments as you go.  Only those who comment on all the blogs will go forward to a LIVE random drawing held on August 30 and the winners picked out by Heather.

I have used Frozen Birds of Paradise Bloomin' Beauty and decided to go with an aperture display card.  I used a Marianne Designs die to make the opening in the from part of my easel card.  This gorgeous image is colored with Copics, cut out with scissors and then Stickles added.  I also added bling from Prima and snowflakes cut out with Marianne Designs die and then added Prima bling and pearls.  Design paper is Bo Bunny.  Sentiment is from A. Jillian Vance Designs and cut out with Nellie's die.  Sure hope you like it!!  Die cut at the bottom done with Tonic Studios die.

2 PAPERS CHALLENGE AT DIGI CHOOSDAY and SOME GOOD NEWS!!

Digi Choosday Crafting Challenge

Hello and welcome back!!  I am so excited to announce that I have been offered a spot on the permanent DT over at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog!  I have continued to do a ton of shopping at Polkadoodles Shop - Nikky's images are such fun to color and I love how the sets include papers, sentiments, embellies, etc - so great to be able to do one stop shopping!

As you know, Digi Choosday Challenge Blog features a New Challenge each Tues. and you have 2 weeks to play along, so we have our new challenge beginning today and running until September 8, but you also still have another week to play in last week's All About The Men  (ends September 1), so hope you will come play along with both!

Today's New Challenge is 2 PAPERS.  Make sure you read the rules on the right sidebar at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog so that you can play along.  Also, a new DIGI CHOOSDAY DISCOUNT is available for 24 hrs. once the new challenge posts at 8am BST, so make sure you take advantage of that!!

For my creation, I chose to make something a little different than my "typical" creations, so I created a bookmark card and used a sentiment rather than an image for the main front panel of my card.   I was also inspired by the fact that my kids start back to school today, so I picked the image and sentiment to encourage them to continue to pursue their goals and dreams.

I chose 2 Patterned Papers from Twiggy and Toots Owl Digital Download Collection.  I also used one of the digi images - Cupcake on a pile of books - from the same Twiggy and Toots collection, it is also available as a single image HERE.  For the frame on the front, I chose one of the frames found in the Twiggy and Toots Owl Digital Download Collection and combined it with one of the sentiments from the same Twiggy and Toots collection using GIMP editing program.  I changed the color of the sentiment from black to pink to match closer with the papers.  Frame is printed out twice and cut out by hand and then layered on top of each other to create more depth to the card.  Additionally, I added bling from Bo Bunny and pearl flourish from Zva Creative.

The right panel of the card is scored using a Scor-bug tool that makes perforation marks so that the bookmark separates nicely from the card.  I colored the image with Copics, with Stickles added, and cut with Sizzix die, brown tag cut with Little Bs die and ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I sure hope you will come play along with us at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog.  Don't forget also to check out all the fabulous DT projects.

Additionally, there's fun to be had and much inspiration to be gained over at Digi Choosday Facebook Group and Polkadoodles Facebook Group, so hope you will join both places if you haven't already, and if you have, pop by for a visit and come share your Polkadoodles creations!

Enjoy your day!  Many hugs!!

I made a double easel type card to showcase this image and I drew in a line to represent an incline that he is skating up then cut out with scissors.  All my design paper is from the boy papers found in Work and Play 11 Digital Collection.  I also included a sentiment from the collection that I printed on one of the papers and then cut out with Nestie.  Helmet and skateboard are SVG files that I cut with my Pazzle from the boy papers and are also part of the Work and Play 11 Digital Collection.  I added 2 buttons from Bag 'O Buttons to finish off my project.

PUNCHES/DIE CUTS CHALLENGE AT DIGI CHOOSDAY!!

Digi Choosday Crafting Challenge

Hello and welcome back!!  I am thrilled to be continuing as GDT over at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog!  I have been doing a ton of shopping at Polkadoodles Shop - Nikky's images are such fun to color and I love how the sets include papers, sentiments, embellies, etc - so great to be able to do all in one shopping!

As you know, Digi Choosday Challenge Blog features a New Challenge each Tues. and you have 2 weeks to play along, so we have our new challenge beginning today, but you also still have another week to play in last week's Embellish It challenge, so hope you will come play along with both!

Today's New Challenge is DIE CUTS/PUNCHES.  Make sure you read the rules on the right sidebar at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog so that you can play along.  Also, a new DISCOUNT is available for 24 hrs. once the new challenge posts at 8am BST, so make sure you take advantage of that!!

For my creation, I chose Octavia Friendly Hugs digi - I love this image, Octavia is stunning and her little fox friend is so adorable.  I had loads of fun coloring the image with my Copics, I adore all the scenery as well - the log, mushrooms, flowers and grass.  I used most of the papers - both printed and plain janes that can be found in the Octavia Moonfly Big Kahuna Download Bundle.  My card is a type of Z fold, I found a tutorial for a similar card from Pinterest, but altered the measurements to accommodate the image I chose.  I created a band to go around it when it's closed and added a sentiment, also from Octavia Moonfly Big Kahuna Download Bundle, that I printed on some of the pattern paper from the bundle and then cut out with Nestie die cut.  Additionally, I used Nestie die cuts for all of the flowers I have added - all the paper used for the flowers is digi paper from the Octavia Moonfly Big Kahuna Download Bundle.

Here is the card opened.  I also added a pearl and bling to the centers of 2 of the flowers.

Here's a closer view of this gorgeous image.  I hope you like all the colors I have chosen.  I did Octavia's dress with RV10, RV11, R81, RV32, RV34, R85 and R89.   I sure hope you like how it turned out.  Image is cut out with Sue Wilson die.

I sure hope you will come play along with us at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog.  Don't forget also to check out all the DT projects.

NEW DT - COME DISCOVER STAR STAMPZ!!

Hello everyone!! This post is from the better late than never department:) I am thrilled to have been asked to be DT coordinator at Star Stampz and we have hit the ground running today with the introduction of our new DT, our first blog post over at Star Stampz Blog and the opening of Star Stampz Fan Group on FB! Keep on following us at both these places as we grow and start challenges on Sept. 3 at Star Stampz Blog and we're sure to have lots of fun over at Star Stampz Fan Group on FB as well.

Finally, make sure you check out all of Sarah's wonderful images at Star Stampz Shop on Etsy. You will find so many adorable images there, if you are like me, you will definitely want to buy them all!!

For today's introduction of the DT post, I chose Sakura Cherry Blossom which you can find at Star Stampz Shop on Etsy.  I chose some Cherry Blossom papers that I found in a Dove Craft paper pad and chose to make a fold called a castle fold - I found it on Pinterest.  I will try and find a link to the blog which has the tutorial.  I love the way it turned out and I think it fits this image so well.

This is the front of the card when it is closed.  I made a band out of my DP and cardstock and then added the sentiment on the front with some Wild Orchid flowers.

Here is a close up of the sentiment - in case you can't read it, it's an MFT stamp that say's "Anyone that keeps the Ability to see Beauty, Never Grows Old."  I just love that sentiment!

My image is colored with Copics - I did the hair in sections and I am really pleased how it turned out.  Colors are E51, E53, E23 and E47.  I cut her out with a Nellie's die, borders are done with SU punch.  I added a butterfly from Prima, and pearl flourishes also from Prima.  I sure hope you like it and will come follow us at Star Stampz Blog and Star Stampz Fan Group on FB!!

Hugs:)

I am GDT at DIGI CHOOSDAY and we have a NEW CHALLENGE!!

Digi Choosday Crafting Challenge

Happy Day!!  I am so honored to be GDT over at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog!  I have always loved Polkadoodles Shop and now I get to play with their images as GDT at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog, so double yay!!

Digi Choosday Challenge Blog features a New Challenge each Tues. and you have 2 weeks to play along, so we have our new challenge beginning today, but you also still have another week to play in last week's Animal challenge, so hope you will come play along with both!

Today's New Challenge is EMBELLISHMENTS, so go on and show us those embellishments.  Make sure you read the rules on the right sidebar at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog so that you can play along.

For my creation, I chose Eden Blossoms image, which I colored with Copics.  I rather like this hair combo, it is YR31, Y23, YR23 and E35.  I chose digi papers from Paper Heaven 5 from Eden Collection at Polkadoodles.  You can purchase all 10 digital paper sets along with tons of other goodies by buying the Eden Collection Big Kahuna Digital Bundle - it is an awesome deal and you can download it instantly after purchase.  Also found in the Eden Collection Big Kahuna Digital Bundle, are embellies - I used 2 of the butterfly embellies here - and sentiments - I used one of those as well and printed it on the digi paper and then cut out with Nestie.  Image is also cut with Nestie.  Additionally, I added flower from Prima, pearl flourish from Zva Creative and crystal bling from Kaisercraft.  The shape I chose was from a trellis card I found in the Joanna Sheen Gallery and I altered it a little to fit my needs.  I cut my main paper 12 x 8 inches.

I sure hope you like the way this turned out and that you will come play along with us at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog.  Don't forget also to check out all the DT projects.

Additionally, there's fun to be had and much inspiration to be gained over at Digi Choosday Facebook Group and Polkadoodles Facebook Group, so hope you will join both places if you haven't already, and if you have, pop by for a visit and come share your Polkadoodles creations!

BACK TO SCHOOL (TRY SOMETHING NEW) CHALLENGE

Happy Monday!  I am thrilled to announce our New Challenge at ONE SWEET CHALLENGE where we showcase the brilliant artists from SWEET PEA STAMPS SHOP.

Our challenge for this month will be BACK TO SCHOOL and we are looking for you to try something new, so it can be a new technique, use a coloring medium that you've never used before, experiment with a new fold or 3D project, etc.

For my Back to School creation, I chose to make a single drawer box easel card.  I have seen these made all the time and have always wanted to make one, but never got around to it before.  There are tons of tutorials online for this box, I looked at a few to make my project.   I used Bazzill cardstock for the main construction of my creation and added DP from Michelle Roos.  Flower is Prima and bling is Zva Creative.  I added this cute sentiment from Your Next Stamp as I think this box makes an excellent birthday card b/c you can put the gift in the drawer!  Sentiment is cut with Frantic Stamper die.

The image I chose for this project is Artist Lemon Shortbread's "On a Mushroom".  I love this image and she was such fun to color with my Copics.  Image is cut out with MFT die.  I sure hope you like the way my easel box card turned out!  Hope you will come play along ONE SWEET CHALLENGE!!

Btw, in our Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook group we have a progressive challenge every two weeks. First, we have a call for projects using any Sweet Pea Stamps image that is available in the store. That theme is “anything goes.” Then those entries will receive a digital image FREE of charge, chosen by our leader and SPS store owner Lynette, for Part Two of the progressive challenge. With that FREE digital image you are asked to make a project and enter it in Part Two.  Random.org will pick the winner of Part Two. That winner will receive another digital image of the winner’s choice from the SPS store. Even if you don’t enter our progressive challenge, we hope you will stop by for inspiration and share your Sweet Pea Stamps art.

The Sweet Pea Stamps Designers blog showcases Sweet Pea goodness every day. Need a little pick me up for your creative mojo, or sometimes to view a video, stop by, like I said, “every day.” You can also find the challenge blogs that Sweet Pea Stamps is sponsoring.  Yet another chance to win more SPS goodness.

Hope you will pay a visit to Sweet Pea Stamps:)

Hugs!!
